Like so many people, much of my interaction with my fellow human beings now happens on social media. I know, the problems and issues with that statement could be called legion, for they are many. Anyway, in particular – since I’ve been trying to not follow politics quite as closely (more for sanity/burnout than anything else), I’ve been spending more time looking at the online Godzilla community, particularly those folks who choose to be active on Facebook.
So the Oscars were two nights ago and I want to congratulate
La La Land Moonlight on winning Best Picture. I’ve heard nothing but good things and can’t wait to see it. That said, given that I have not seen it or many of the other Oscar Nominees from last year, my own Top Ten list looks quite different.
Every now and then, Toho Pictures astounds with a Godzilla movie that is more than the standard giant monster mash. Shin Godzilla, which is currently enjoying a limited run in the United States, is one of those times.
